This is probably the most exciting blog post I have ever had to write. I’m so excited for this next chapter of my life, my family and my business. Last month I closed the chapter on Katrina Jackson the certified expanded dental assistant and am now a full time photographer. I’m finally my own BOSS!! I have been my own boss already but it was complicated at times and sometimes having so many things going on my business suffered. I don’t know what’s going to happen but i’m so ready to see where my business will go. 

What does being a full time photographer mean for my clients? This means I will now have office hours! I’m so stoked to FINALLY after 5 years of business have official office hours. This will also mean faster turn around times for my clients! I have so many exciting things planned and can’t wait to finally be able to see some of my idea’s come to life. This also means working during the week. No more weekend shoots. The weekends will be for my family!!

The Glitz and Glam Studio!! I have kept most of what the studio looks like a big secret! I have been dying to share the pictures and this is the perfect blog post to do so. The Studio has truly been a labor of love. Don’t believe me just ask my husband! We don’t usually agree on much and the studio was also one of those things. This studio is definitely the definition of Glitz and Glam. It is very chic, girly with a very high end look. Just my kind of style! Glitz and Glam session’s was born several years ago and started to really take shape right away. 🙂  The studio is another way for my clients to see what I mean when I say Glitz and Glam. My Studio, my photography,  my custom products and my clients are very GLITZ AND GLAM.  One thing I know for sure, I know MY client’s and I know what MY clients want! Being 100% sure of myself and knowing my clients I was able to help design my entire BRAND/WEBSITE/STUDIO! What I know for sure about GLITZ AND GLAM!!! Glitz and Glam doesn’t just mean glitter and sparkly things! The right client knows just that.  GLITZ AND GLAM means: HIGH END, EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY PHOTOGRAPHY AND BEAUTIFUL CUSTOM PRODUCTS. I hear this one a lot —-> My clients want to look their absolute best, they also want their images to look like them! They LOVE my clean editing style. THEY WANT THE BEST HAIR AND MAKEUP PRODUCTS TO BE USED AND STYLIST. This is your SENIOR PICTURES, That’s not something you leave in your bestie hands. GET A PROFESSIONAL! The results are like night and day!

I love when new clients walk into my studio for the first time because they really don’t know what to expect. Some client live pretty close but some drive over an hour to my studio and i’m way in the country. From the outside my studio looks like a plain garage with a nice size loft on top. But when they walk in they are head over heals with excitement. I’m a NATURAL LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER! I’m a natural light photographer because I’m always drawn to natural light photographs. I’m addicted to pretty yummy light. I don’t personally care for flash photography. Not saying I don’t know how to use it or saying I won’t start. I’m just saying right now it’s not my thing! Like I said earlier I know 100% what I like. Don’t believe me ask my husband! So the Studio is 250 square feel of NATURAL LIGHT. The entire front 2 rooms are lit by beautiful window light. It’s nearly 30 feet of windows! It’s really stunning. I love it!

I have had clients tell me I took my online presences/brand and brought it to life. They were not expecting such a high end business in ROCHESTER. I know, me either! lol Since I can’t live in the big city I have brought the big city to ROCHESTER,INDIANA!!! And it’s all MINE! I Literally had a client this past week tell me, “OK no offense but this is so nice it doesn’t look like it goes in ROCHESTER!!” BEST COMPLIMENT EVER! I told her that’s the point! KATRINA JACKSON PHOTOGRAPHY is not for everyone. Those that know Katrina Jackson Photography is for them they know they are signing up for the MOST AFTER SENIOR EXPERIENCE ROCHESTER AREA HAS TO OFFER and they never look back!  I splurged on a few key items for the Studio: My white couch! That couch get’s the most comments. Simply because it’s white and because it’s also comfy. My husband thought I was crazy getting a white couch! He was right, but it’s also duel purpose. We use it in the indoor studio portions (Studio Glam Sessions). The pink chair! Ok, I just had to have. It’s basically a branding piece! Glitz and Glam light fixtures. The light fixtures are the icing on the cake. Just when you thought you have seen it all and then you happen to look up! PRICELESS. It gets them every time. My all glass desk, well because I spend a lot of time at it and I wanted something pretty! My hair and makeup chair, I wanted to make sure my girls were comfy while they were being beautified! and last but not least SAMPLES!!! I went over board on samples. Samples are huge! If you are a photographer and you don’t have samples you are doing yourself and your clients a huge disservice. I truly believe in having tangible products that are very nice quality to take away from your session. DIGITALS are huge for me at KJP but I also want my clients to walk away with product in addition to their digitals!
